The work symbolised a continuation of my dissertation topic on the mapping of the printmaking landscape in Singapore. Out of the many printmaking exhibitions that occured from 1966 to 2017, 150 pieces were chosen to introduce and draw out the contextual studies on its history observed by the year, title and venue of printmaking exhibitions in Singapore.
As an arts manager, I was approached by Programme Leader of the Diploma in Fine Arts Lim Bee Ling to manage this project. Together, we curated a list of artists and began to manage details of the artists and liaised between Lim, the artists, and ICA gallery. |
In addition to the exhibition at Praxis Space Gallery at the Institute of Contemporary Arts Singapore, I also assisted in managing the two workshops (mokuhanga and cyanotype) that were conducted in May and June 2018 for 116 participants. Mokuhanga workshops were conducted by Terry McKenna, whom we flew in from Australia, for selected artists and students of McNally School of Fine Arts as well as cyanotype workshops conducted for senior citizens, MOE ECG Counsellors, and primary and secondary school students. Prints of each participant can be seen in the opposite gallery Project Space. Taught by education officers from STPI–Creative Workshop & Gallery, I also assisted in operating all nine cyanotype workshops and managed each work for the exhibition space.
For this project, I assisted in managing the marketing for the exhibition and published the gifs below for the Facebook events page. We also published an e-catalogue, which was written by me and can be seen in Praxis Space Gallery. |
